CP painting/color pencil drawing of lovely polka dot orchid blooms. This is one of my favorite orchids. Each bloom is a surprise! This drawing was rendered on white drawing paper and the black background was penciled on in multiple layers. I tried to create depth of field with the foreground in sharp focus and the background blurred out a little. Reference photo is by Dominique Flavell. Dominique is a FAA member also.

After being forced into an early "retirement" due to our economy I needed something to help calm me and keep me busy and in a positive frame of mind so I took this opportunity to get back into painting and drawing.
